As with any website, code delivered to your browser runs with the access granted by your browser, so use a trusted connection and keep your browser up to date.
Browser processing has practical limits
Large or complex PDFs can use a lot of memory and may take longer on a phone or older computer. If a page freezes, close other tabs, try fewer files or use a device with more available memory. Processing locally also does not change the sensitivity of your original document or the permissions you need to edit it.
