    How PDF compression works here

    The browser renders each PDF page at your chosen resolution, turns the result into a JPEG image and rebuilds the pages into a new PDF. This can reduce the size of scanned pages, especially when using lower resolution and image quality.

    Compression is lossy. Because pages become images, text can no longer be selected or searched, links and form fields are removed, and signatures or accessibility structure are not carried over. Keep the original and inspect the output at its intended size. This tool is best for visual copies, not signed, accessible or archival documents.
